In 1965 Paul McCartney records Yesterday, which he states came to him fully-formed in a dream.
It became an instant hit for The Beatles and has soon became the most covered song of all time.
"When I was younger, so much younger than today
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self-assured."
"And now my life has changed in oh, so many ways
My independence seems to vanish in the haze."
"But every now and then I feel so insecure."
Yesterday, The Night Before, "But as of today, well I've got somebody that's new."
Paul's songs on the Help! album contain the premise of yesterday vs. today, the changing of the guard, that was then this is now, the times they are a' changin'.
Lennon's song Help! sets the stage for these songs and their themes.
As the only Beatle in the recording of Yesterday, Paul is set apart from the other three, much like in the intro to their film A Hard Day's Night, where he is wearing a fake mustache.
For those keeping track of "Paul is dead" clues at home, after McCartney's performance of Yesterday on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1965, John Lennon said, "Thank you Paul, that was just like him."
Later that year, McCartney performed a duet of the song with Marianne Faithful for a British television special. Faithful was the only person to perform a duet with the Beatles.
The performance was filmed on November 11th, 1965.
11/11 contains much significance.
Marianne Faithful starred as Lillith in Kenneth Anger's infamous film Lucifer Rising.
Paul McCartney states that after Yesterday came to him in his dream, he was afraid to show it around for fear that he had merely stolen a previous melody that he'd heard before and forgotten. Eventually, via feedback, he felt that it was an original melody.
From 1964-1966, McCartney lived with his girlfriend Jane Asher in her parents home.
Beacon, and many other researcers have speculated that Dr. Asher may have been involved in using some sort of sleep-therapy to implant the tune of Yesterday into McCartney's mind.
Add this to the fact that Mrs. Asher was a music teacher and musician who was a professor of the oboe at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where her best known student was Beatle record producer George Martin, and this and this notion becomes less fanciful.

The 1966 song "A Day in the Life of a Fool" by Jack Jones is the American version of the Bossa Nova song "Manha de Carnival" from the 1959 film Black Orpheus.
"A Day in the Life of a Fool", lyrics by Carl Sigman.

Carl Sigman also wrote the lyrics to "Answer Me, My Love" which shares similarities to the Beatles' "Yesterday", both musically and thematically.

The music to "Answer Me, My Love" is from the German song "Mutterlein".

Sigman also wrote the song "Just Yesterday" in 1965, which contains the line, "...only yesterday, now it all seems so far away." Jack Jones' recording of "Just Yesterday" reached #4 in the US charts that year.

Yesterday is emphasized in the title of this 1966 release, with the full title alluding to 'then and now'. This album is also known as "the butcher album".
The cover was quickly replaced with this image, which was flipped. Here we see the Osiris motif being more overtly presented, with the 14 pieces of meat and Paul in a box.
1966 is the perceived transition year for the Beatles personnel. In Rosemary's Baby, 1966 is referred to as "Year One". Old Aeon, New Aeon?
The dismembered man, and man in a box is also featured in this ancient Alchemical woodcut from the Atlanta Fugiens by Michael Maier, 1617.
And of course, Osiris himself says in the Egyptian Book of the Dead, "I am yesterday, I am today. I have the power to be born a second time."

See more Osiris resonances with McCartney & Lennon in the Egyptian mythology post.
and in the Thoth Tarot post.
Interesting that the first thing Ed Sullivan said when introducing The Beatles for the first time on his show, he said, "Now yesterday and today our theater's been jammed with newspapermen and hundreds of photographers from all over the nation..."
"A day is like a thousand years."
"A thousand years in your eyes is but yesterday when it is passed." Psalms 90:4
1000 years is known as a millennium.
Yesterday, the last ear? Notice the bridge ends with the word yesterday, which is also the word that begins the verse; so Paul essentially says, "...yesterday. Yesterday...": two thousand years. Referring to the passing of the Aeon of Osiris?
(also note the Millennium Falcon of Star Wars, Aeon of Horus? Flown by Harrison Ford (Horus Son/Sun).
McCartney wasn't the only Beatle to have a dream play a significant role in their career. John Lennon claims he had a dream of a man on a flaming pie who told him to name his band The Beatles with an A.
Near the end of Lucifer Rising, we see a flying saucer flying over Egypt that could be taken as a flaming pie. And remember, there's also a scene in the film where Lucifer holds a flying saucer cake.
The flaming pie graphic on McCartney's 1997 album, Flaming Pie, resembles a flying saucer.
The root PHA from Greek translates to "to shine". Words like phallus and phantasm contains that root.
Phantasm means "a dream, illusion, fantasy; apparition, ghost. From the stem of phainein "to bring to light, make appear, be seen, expound, inform", from PIE root *bha- "to shine" (Sanskrit bhati means "shines, glitters".
http://www.etymonline.com/index.php?term=phantasm
So, a flaming pie could translate to a flaming shine.
And speaking of PIE and "to shine" and flaming pies; the value of Pi is 3.14, and the Gematrical value of Metatron is 314, as well as Shaddai. So, could that have been Metatron on his flaming/shining cube in the dream?
Metatron is often associated with Da'at.

And with light, you've also got Lucy/Lucifer.
Stephen King claims the inspiration for the title of his novel The Shining came from Lennon's song Instant Karma, with it's line, "We all shine on, like the moon and the stars and the sun."
Interesting that in the film Explorers, Ethan Hawke and River Phoenix receive instructions on building a spaceship in their dreams, which were beamed into their heads by a distant spaceship. Tying back in to the saucer resembling a flaming pie in Lucifer Rising.

In Lennon's song How Do You Sleep? he mentions that "The only thing you done was Yesterday." People that believe Paul died take this song as a jab at the replacement. Therefore, that would mean the replacement wrote Yesterday. which contradicts the usual 1966 death date.

In the 1950 film Born Yesterday, Billie Dawn (Judy Holliday) undergoes etiquette lessons from Paul Verral (William Holden). The film ends with Billie & Paul getting married.
For those unfamiliar with the "Paul is dead" paradigm, it is said he was replaced by a man named William/Billy.
Dawn makes one think of the rising sun god Khepri, being reborn and of Horus the child of Osiris.
Billie & Paul are paired up via their mutual acquantence Jim (James).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Born_Yesterday_(1950_film)
The film takes place in Washington D.C. where the Beatles held their first American concert.
Before the tutoring, Jim & Billie's fiance Harry (Harrison?) are wondering whether it will work and if it's possible for a person to really change their nature, and the way they talk.
At one point Harry asks Jim how he's feeling and he replies, "Not bad, considering I've been dead for 16 years."
If you add 16 years to 1950 you get 1966.
Towards the end of the film, after learning that she's been pulled into a crooked political conspiracy, Billie runs away from Harry. After eight hours, Jim says, "Maybe she's seeing a double-feature. Or, maybe she was in an accident."
Born Yesterday was directed by George Cukor, it was nominated for 5 Academy Awards, Judy Holliday won the Award for Best Actress. She also won a Golden Globe for her performance.
George Cukor also directed A Double Life (1947), in which the two main characters are named John & Bill. It also starrs Shelly Winters of Lolita, Aflie, The Tenant, The Devil's Daughter, etc. (1947 is the year of the Black Dahlia murder).
Cukor also directed The Chapman Report (1962), in which the main character is named Paul. Shelly Winters also starrs in this film; making the John, Bill & Paul double-feature.
Cukor also directed A Winged Victory, The Two-Faced Woman, and A Woman's Face, about a woman who gets plastic surgery, Blue Bird, etc. And he apparently also worked on The Wizard of Oz.
He also directed James Mason & Judy Garland in A Star Is Born.
