The French Connection

Though the only big connectors between American Psycho and The French Connection is that they both take place in Manhatten and both feature Super Villains, here's my quick sync breakdown on it, since today is September 11th.
The French Connection (1971) is the first film to show the Twin Towers.

The first thing I noticed was that the main American drug buyer is named Boca.
Boca is Spanish for Mouth.
The Tower card is associated with the Hebrew letter Pe, which means Mouth.

In this scene, Boca and the French assassin are dressed identically, like twins. These are the two characters we see get shot, quite dramatically, too. Notice the Twin Tower-like object the assassin (guy in back) is standing in front of.

Here is the unfinished North Tower. Notice written on the ship, "American Mercury".

When Russo goes to Popeye's apartment, he sees woman's red boots and blue pants. Bringing to mind Superman/Supergirl - And Popeye, Gene (Lex Luthor) Hackman is covered with a yellow blanket and a black coat. which matches his Lex Luthor suit.
Hackman; Alluding to Osiris hacked to pieces?
Popeye has his hand raised much like the Devil in the R/W Tarot card. This is when he catches Boca and Charnier, and the wave is in response to an earlier incident in which Charnier, the French drug seller, eluded him.

The Devil & Death cards are the two paths directly above the Tower card on the Kabbalah Tree of Life

The day after 9/11/2001, the newest issue of the Superman comic book was released, and this image was part of the story.
These are the Twin Towers of Lex Luthor.

Here's a little something for the sync-heads.
The car bought at an auction by Charnier, which he used to smuggle his money.

Other things of note:
At the night club, the performing act was singing a song about going to the moon.

VW Beetles everywhere, even for 1971.

Boca and Charnier go to D.C. to discuss the transaction. In front of the White House, in fact.

Popeye brings to mind the film with Shelly Duval as Olive Oyl, who also played Wendy in The Shining, also loaded with moon landing and 9/11 syncs.

This was also the first R-rated film to win an Academy Award for best picture.

I came across another earlier film to show the Twin Towers. Ironically titled Going In Style. Also ironic that the shot with the towers has an airplane going across them.
